Description
Wooden Board with an associated statue of Christ after being taken down from the cross (a pieta). Although headed with the name of the church the parish website states that it was placed here, in 1967, because there was no Civic building in the town. The 1967 building replaced an earlier 1932 building which in turn replaced a building (the Original Church) -St. Ethelburga's which served the mining Communities of Inkerman (close to the present day site of Glasgow Airport). When the mine was fully worked, Inkerman was abandoned and the Church transported whole to Linwood.
