- PLINTH SURMOUNTED BY GRANITE CELTIC CROSS WITH ROSE IN THE CENTRE. INSCRIPTION ON THE SIDES OF THE Upper PLINTH. The whole is on a 3 stepped base. The names are on bronze plaques on 3 sides of the lower plinth.

- West Side Plinth: "THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE" / West Side Plaque-TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF THOSE MARPLE MEN WHO MADE THE SUPREME SACRIFICE IN THE GREAT WAR / (names ) SOUTH SIDE: "WHO STANDS IF FREEDOM FALL" / (NAMES on plaque below) NORTH SIDE: "WHO DIES IF ENGLAND LIVE" / (NAMES on plaque below) EAST SIDE: THIS MONUMENT IS ERECTED BY A GRATEFUL TOWNSHIP AND MANY SORROWING RELATIVES AND FRIENDS 1919 / "THEY LOVED NOT THEIR LIVES UNTO THE DEATH" (REV.12:11).
