Description
Clock, Bell and 2 Brass Plaques-1 plaque for each conflict. The clock had a blue face and gold Roman numerals, and was protected from above by an overhanging roofed frame. This is now believed to be lost The WW1 plaque was on a wooden backboard, which had been deepened to allow for the WW2 brass to be added. When relocated to Hesleden School this was lost and the plaques mounted on a new wooden backboard. The WW1 Brass has a wide border of elaborate design, culminating in squares at the four corners. The names are listed in 4 columns with incised red and black lettering, with elaborate lettering for the dedication and plain capitals for the names. The WW2 plaque is matching, but smaller, with a shelf underneath which has hooks to hang wreaths. No information is available about the bell, or where it is now, but the national bell list shows that the church only had one bell, supposedly cast in the year 1350 (so clearly moved here from elsewhere)
