This workshop, one of five organised as part of the AHRC BBC Monitoring Research Network, took place in the Sussex Humanities Lab at the University of Sussex and focused on the archive as a physical entity and the opportunities presented by digital technologies. The collection is estimated to consist of 15 million sheets of paper and presents a special opportunity for archivists and researchers to address how best to provide access to a collection of such large proportions. Digital humanities researchers were able to discuss the methodological approaches to a collection whose scale and complexity presents particular challenges.
