Project Description

Tenby Museum ran a series of events to commemorate the centenary of World War One. Funded through a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, this involved talks alongside the publication of a book entitled 'Tenby Remembers', a biographical dictionary of men from Tenby who served in the First World War. The museum Collections Manager also created a major exhibition titled 'Take Me Back to Dear Old Blighty' which looked at the town during the conflict, as well as placing it into a wider worldwide context. The exhibition ran for a year; it incorporated working with the history department at the local comprehensive school who provided an audio-visual presentation about what the war meant to children today.
