Project Description
This initiative set out to turn the names carved in stone on a local war memorial into remembered lives. Over the course of the process, researcher Mike Willoughby identified 312 soldiers from Henley and surrounding villages who had lost their lives during the First World War. He produced biographical accounts to ensure that each of these individuals were remembered as 'Some Mother's Son'. Along with a map showing where the fallen had lived, these findings were published in 2014 as a book titled 'Bringing Them Home'.
