Project Description

This project commemorated victims of any wars since World War One - both civilians and military who were killed and the many people who lost health, homes, or country as a direct result of war. Animals killed and the environmental destruction caused were also remembered. Over five thousand white textile poppies were made by volunteers from around Britain, many of them with labels attached to remember particular individuals. The project was organised by the Quaker Arts Network with hundreds of (Quaker and other) volunteers. The installation was displayed at Friends House in London during the Autumn of 2018, with parts of the exhibition also shown at the 'Art the Arms Fair' in 2017 and 2019.
