Project Description

Arnold Local History Group produced three exhibitions at Arnold Library in October 2014 (held for three weeks), November 2016 (three weeks) and November 2018 (four weeks). These displays were funded by the Group, supported by donations from several local councillors. There were also talks pertaining to the First World War at six group meetings over the course of the conflict's centenary, with five of these specific to how the war affected Arnold. In October 2018, Group member Andy McKinnon published a book titled 'Arnold's Mighty Army', which told the story of over two thousand Arnold men who fought - including what they did in civilian life, and accounting for their varied experiences during the war.
