Project Description

'A Flawed Peace?' was an exhibition project at The Peace Museum that ran from November 2018 until June 2019. Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the exhibition explored the post-war peace process, culminating with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles in June 1919, using the museum's unique collection of objects. This includes a 1919 copy of the Treaty of Versailles that belonged to a local man, meaning that we were able to work with our local communities to explore the impact of the post-war peace on Bradford and beyond. The Peace Museum partnered with New Focus, a young people's collective at Impressions Gallery, Bradford, who researched the role of women in the peace process and helped curate the exhibition. It was the museum's most successful exhibition to date, and has since been turned into a mini travelling exhibition that has been loaned out to other museums and galleries.
