Project Description

14 is a series of creative short films responding to the poems of Staffordshire’s Poet Laureate 2013-14, Tom Wyre on the theme of life on the Home Front in World War One. Centred around the events of countries in turmoil and family life inspired by the Staffordshire village of Salt, these creations weave their message through both the home and battle fronts of the war. This mobile magnetic collection of poems and short films combines live action, archive footage and animation - filmed by Emmy Award winners 'Junction 15', with students from the BA(Hons) Animation and BA(Hons) Stop Motion Animation and Puppet Making course at Staffordshire University. '14' became a small exhibition which opened at the Shire Hall Gallery in Stafford with a poetry reading by Tom Wyre. It then toured the county until December 2018. A small booklet of the poems was produced to accompany the exhibition.
