IWM's War Memorials Register is a comprehensive national database of UK war memorials and the names of the individuals they commemorate.

The War Memorials Register includes memorials commemorating members of the armed forces, civilians and animals from all conflicts, and those who died in service.

War memorials form an important part of the UK's cultural heritage. They reflect the changing face of commemoration as well as artistic, social, military and international history. Each war memorial presents a unique record of the past, as with no central organisation for their creation, the design and wording on the memorials were chosen by the communities who created them.

Development of the War Memorials Register
We have recently made some technical updates to the War Memorial Register which are designed to ensure the longevity of the database.

We are aware of a number of issues which have arisen and our team is actively working to resolve them.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
