- During last Sunday evening's service at the High Street Methodist Church, a brass memorial tablet to the memory of the late Mr. E. G. W. Tyson and Major R. P. Barber was unveiled by Mr. Rex Barber, son of the late Major.
- Inscription
- "Also in precious memory of Major Reginald Percy Barber (R.A.O.C.). Born 1900. Died on active service in Egypt, 1947. For many years an active and generous member of this Church. He also gave valuable service to the Local Authority, and in 1936 was Chairman of the Council."
