Description
Mounted and framed group photograph of officers from Merthyr Tydfil Borough Force who had served in World War 1; behind them, in the stands of the stadium where the photograph was taken, is a banner bearing the images of their 6 colleagues who had been killed in action. (N.B. The photograph's caption listed most of those within it under merely their surname. The group included Chief Constable J.A. Wilson, and Chief Inspector Davies. The six casualties, whose images were depicted in the inset, are also commemorated on that Forces illustrated Roll of Honour, see our record 87074 at https://www.iwm.org.uk/memorials/item/memorial/87074 ).
