Reference
  • The photograph is among many items deposited by Surrey Constabulary with Surrey History Centre in 2013, and is now held under their ref SHC 9152; www.exploringsurreyspast.org.uk/collections/getrecord/SHCOL_9152
  • The captions beneath the photograph listed only the military rank and surname of those whom it depicted. The full names and biographical details of the Constabulary's officers it featured can be found at www.surreyinthegreatwar.org.uk/story/surrey-constabulary-in-the-first-world-war/ (The Sergeant Major Gibson seated in the front row on the photograph was Reginald Hollis Gibson of the Military Provost Staff Corps. As no record has been found of his having ever been a member of Surrey Constabulary, his inclusion in the photograph may merely have been due to his presence on that day in connection with his Provost Corps duties).

This record comprises all information held by IWM’s War Memorials Register for this memorial. Where we hold a names list for the memorial, this information will be displayed on the memorial record. Please check back as we are adding more names to the database.
