- Description
- Large rectangular stone tablet, fixed within a steel floor-standing frame. The tablet has an etched crown at top centre, beneath which are the gilt letters "RCT"; in the section below is an etched depiction of a coach and two horses, with a man standing in front of them. Below is the incised inscription, followed by an etched depiction of the Royal Corps of Transport crest.

- RCT/ 1794 - 1993/ The Royal Waggoners were raised by Royal Warrant/ on 7th March 1794 to serve in Flanders under/ HRH the Duke of York. This memorial was given by/ the Royal Corps of Transport to commemorate/ two centuries of loyal support to the British/ Armed Forces by the Royal Waggoners,/ The Commissariat and their successors:/ Royal Waggon Train 1799-1833/ Land Transport Corps 1855-1856/ Military Train 1856-1869/ Commissariat and ASC 1869-1888/ Army Service Corps 1888-1918/ Royal Army Service Corps 1918-1965/ Royal Corps of Transport 1965-1993
