- A sandstone scroll set on top of the family tomb, and carrying an incised inscription.
- Inscription
- In loving memory of/ Pte. Robert Prescott, Aged 21 years/ of the York and Lancaster Regiment/ The beloved son of Richard and Elizabeth/ Prescott who died November 14th 1916/ from wounds received at Guillemont and was/ interred at Grovetown Military Cemetery France./ He sleeps not in his native soil/ But neath a foreign sky/ Far from the ones who hold him dear/ In a soldier's grave he lies.
