- The three steps of a Portland stone memorial which originally had a cross mounted upon them - now absent. The inscription is leaded.

- In loving memory of/Signaller James Johnson/ KOSB The beloved son of/ Thomas & Emma Johnson/ Who was Killed in Action by an aerial torpedo/ on May 27th 1916 and was interred at/ Vermelles British Cemetery France/ Aged 20 years./ His duty nobly done.
