- Description
- A tall Portland stone, fleury, market-style cross on an hexagonal shaft mounted on a tall square plinth on a spread three-step base. The WW1 dedication is on the front panel, with the names inscribed on the other three. The WW2 names are on the pages of an open book, also in Portland stone, resting on the base of the plinth. The inscriptions are leaded.

- On the plinth: Front panel: Hallowed in Christ/ be the memory of/ the brave men from the Parish of/ Lowton St Mary's/ who died for the freedom of/ the World in the Great War/ 1914 - 1918./ God made trial of them and found them/ worthy of Himself As gold in the furnace/ He proved them and as a whole burnt/ offering He accepted them.
