History
These war memorials (8854 and 8855) received a War Memorials Trust grant of £4,140 towards relocation and conservation works in 2019. The inscriptions were cleaned and repainted to match the existing design. Both war memorials were then installed in the Methodist Chapel, East Yell following the closure of their original location. The memorials were mounted using secure metal fixings and supported by wooden lintels on the wall. The memorials are now in a more suitable internal environment where the public can readily access them to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in both World Wars.
