Description
White trefoil cross standing on white three tier stepped base, the whole on large concrete foundation. Self coloured letters IHS toward top centre of cross, black lead lettering toward bottom. Left and right faces have black lead lettering over all three tiers but are otherwise undecorated.

Cross: CALLED/ CHOSEN/ FAITHFUL/ Front tiers: In Loving Memory/ of/ DRIVER THOMAS SMITHSON./ R.F.A./ THE DEARLY BELOVED SON OF/ WILLIAMSON & FANNY SMITHSON,/ WHO DIED IN ST LUKES WAR HOSPITAL, HALIFAX./ FEBRUARY 13TH 1918./ AGED 22 YEARS./ Left tiers: Also of/ L. CPL JAMES MORLEY/ ESSEX REGT,/ THE DEARLY BELOVED HUSBAND OF/ ANNIE ELIZABETH MORLEY./ WHO DIED OF WOUNDS MARCH 21ST 1918,/ IN THE 46TH MILITARY HOSPITAL, AND/ IS BURIED IN NOYON CEMETERY, FRANCE./ AGED 28 YEARS.
