Description

Wall-mounted white marble tablet with a black stone backing. The tablet, inscribed with black lettering, stands on a bevelled base resting on two corbels (one now missing) and is surmounted by a moulded cornice and a pediment with a central roundel containing a rampant lion surrounded by a wreath.

In Memory of / ROBERT LLOYD EDWARDS, / LIEUTENANT OF THE RIFLE BRIGADE, / AGED 22 YEARS. / SECOND SON OF CHARLES EDWARDS ESQRE, / OF DOLSERAU, IN THE COUNTY OF MERIONETH; / HE WAS ACCIDENTALLY KILLED WHILST SHOOTING / IN KASHMIR, INDIA, ON THE 18TH OCTOBER 1877, / AND WAS BURIED AT SRINNAGAR, THE CAPITAL OF KASHMIR. / A TABLET TO HIS MEMORY IS ERECTED BY HIS / BROTHER OFFICERS OVER HIS GRAVE, AS A TOKEN OF / THEIR AFFECTIONATE REMEMBRANCE. / "BLESSED ARE THE PURE IN SPIRIT." /
