Presented to Midhurst Rother College(formerly Midhurst Grammar School)/ by the Battle of Britain Historical Society/In HONOUR/of former pupil/Warrant Officer/ARTHUR WILLIAM EADE AFC/266 & 206 (Spitfire) Squadron RAF/His participation in the Battle of Britain in 1940 helped to prevent/ an invasion of this country and the subjugation of its people/ "NEVER IN THE FIELD OF HUMAN CONFLICT/WAS SO MUCH OWED BY SO MANY TO SO FEW."/Winston Spencer Churchill, House of Commons, 20 August 1940
