Description
Nowy-headed rectangular landscape plaque, with raised border and the Constabulary crest top-centre. The inscription is in raised letters. (The plaque was originally erected on an external wall of the Constabulary HQ building at Haverfordwest Castle, which was later vacated by the Police. The plaque remained on the same site - which became the Haverfordwest Museum, but was taken inside the building, where it is now on display with a shelf beneath, alongside the Constabulary's WW1 plaque - see WMR 82291).

THE OFFICERS AND MEN OF THIS COUNTY'S POLICE/ DESIRE TO RECORD THEIR SENSE OF THE HONOUR DUE/ TO THEIR COMRADE WHOSE NAME IS INSCRIBED/ BELOW, WHO LOST HIS LIFE WHILST SERVING AS/ A NAVAL OFFICER ON H.M.S. BLACKWOOD DURING/ THE INVASION OF FRANCE ON THE 15TH JUNE 1944/ P.C. 82. ALBERT GORDON LAUGHARNE, B.A./ (1ST CLASS HONOURS)/ ER ANRHYDEDD A GOGONIANT I DDUW. (Final line translates as "For Honour and the glory of God").
