- Description
- Two large wooden boards, each with cream-coloured background with the badge of the Essex Regiment at top, the shield of Essex at bottom, and the names of those commemorated in black italics. Each board has an ornate gilt border. Across the two boards, the names are given in the following order and categories: 1) Officers: a) killed in action, b) died of wounds, c) died of sickness, d) accidentally killed; 2) NCOs and men: a) killed in action, b) died of wounds, c) accidentally killed, d) died of sickness, e) drowned in action, f) died prisoners of war.

- Each board bears the following inscription at top: In memory of the officers, non-commissioned officers and men of the First Sixth Battalion/ Essex Regiment who gave their lives for their King and Country in Gallipoli, Egypt, Palestine/ and Syria during the Great War 1914-1919.
