- Glasgow Herald 21st of June 1920 "A memorial tablet has been unveiled in the vestibule of Brandon U.F. Church, Hamilton to perpetuate the memory of the members and adherents of the congregation who fell in the war. The names of the fallen include the Rev. Gilbert W. Elliot M.A. a former minister of the church."
