- Granite tablet set into a triangular pedimented grey granite frame. Incised inscription in gold painted lettering. The memorial is mounted onto the cemetery wall. Wreath is carved in relief at the top centre of the triangular pediment. WW2 tablet added underneath in 2007

- Aberdeen Press and Journal - Wednesday 05 May 1920 www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/viewer/bl/0000576/19200505/006/0003 MEMORIAL TABLET DEDICATED AT SLAINS. The spring Communion was observed in Slains Parish Church on Sunday. The Rev. D. Norman Masson, B.D. conducted the service, after which the congregation reassembled in the roadway for the dedication of the tablet in memory of the men of Slains who fell in the war. The tablet is of Rubislaw granite, simple and chaste in design, bearingi the inscription :— To the Glory of God and to perpetuate the memory of the men of Slains who fell in the Great War, 1914-1919 - (names) "Greater love hath no man that this that a man lay down his life for his friends."
