Description
Greek Cross on plinth. Rectangular die with three projecting tablets, all on a three-stepped base. Dedicatory tablet has the family arms at left and the Badge of the Gordon Highlanders at right with, at centre, a crossed SMLE Rifle and Claymore upon which is a wreath surmounted by a Coronet. Above all, an open book.

LIEUT: 5TH BN GORDON / HIGHLANDERS. BORN 13TH / APRIL 1888. FELL IN ACTION / AT NEUVILLE ST VAAST / FRANCE DURING THE GREAT / WAR ON 26TH MARCH 1916 Below on 3 sides are WW1 names plaques, on the 6 o'clock face at the base is a WW2 plaque, and the Cyprus name is at the foot of the 3 o'clock face MANY GAVE MUCH BUT / HE HAD MOST TO GIVE / ALL DREAMS, ALL HOPES /LIFE LEFT AN UNRUN RACE (Names)/ 1939-1945 / (Names) CYPRUS 1956 / (Name) FOR THIS HAS DEATH THE / KIND AND GENTLE KING NOW SET HIM FiRST IN / PEACE FAITHFUL UNTO DEATH
