- Description
- Ornate marble tablet with decorated base and cornice. The tablet is flanked by carved swords, rifles and flags in relief and topped by a foliate design with latin inscription. The dedication is inlaid in black roman capitals.

- TO THE MEMORY/ OF EDWARD GROSE ESQUIRE,/ LATE A CAPTAIN IN H. M. FIRST REGIMENT OF GUARDS,/ AND THE ONLY SON OF SIR NASH GROSE, KNIGHT,/ AND DAME MARY HIS WIFE./ HE FELL IN BATTLE AGAINST THE ARMIES OF FRANCE,/ THUS CROWNING IN THE DEFENSE OF/ NATIONAL AND GENERAL INDEPENDENCE A VICTORIOUS WARFARE,/ WHICH HAD EXTENDED FROM SPAIN TO FLANDERS,/ FROM CORUNNA AND CADIZ TO BAYONNE AND WATERLOO,/ HE DIED IN THE 32D YEAR OF HIS AGE,/ ON THE 16TH DAY OF JUNE A. D. 1815.
