Long rectangular brass plaque mounted in the face of the top pulpit step. The inscription is incised in roman capitals with rubrication.

TO THE HONOR AND GLORY OF GOD/ AND IN MEMORY OF COLONEL THE HON F. GROSVENOR HOOD WHO COMMANDED THE GRENADIER GUARDS/ AT ALMA AND FELL IN THE TRENCHES BEFORE SEVASTOPOL OCT 18TH 1854. THIS PULPIT WAS ERECTED.
