- Description
- Marble memorial tablet with the names of 153 former boy pupils and 2 girl pupils who died in WW1 (the latter in air raids). The memorial consists of six highly polished inscription panels bearing the names with the declaration and epitaph in the top and bottom centre of the tablet, with pilasters and surrounds in Grecian tinos of green stone. The whole is surmounted with a moulded label forming the pediment for the school crest, bearing the Airdrie coat of arms, "Vigilantibus" with "1914-1918" in high burnished brass.
