Description
Four-light stained-glass windows in two pairs. Above each pair are minor lights featuring rabbits and squirrels at play among stylised symbols of nature. Above each light a pair of angels kneel holding a scroll carrying a biblical inscription. The left-hand light of the pair on the left has an image of Jesus, hand raised in blessing, with a female figure in the background. The right-hand light has an image of a knight in armour on his knees before Jesus, receiving the blessing, with an older couple looking on in sorrow. The left-hand light of the pair on the right has a knight standing in full (Biblical) armour, wearing the helmet of Salvation, the breast-plate of Righteousness, the belt of Peace, and bearing The Sword of God in his right hand and the shield of Faith in his left, whilst the right-hand light has an angel carrying the crown of glory and a palm leaf of victory. Across the bottom of the lights is the dedicatory inscription. Below the window an elaborate brass plaque runs the length of the four lights. Kneeling angels at each side hold a scroll upon which the enamelled inscription is incised either side of a central disc bearing the enamelled Colours of the XXIV Company of the Grenadier Guards in red and blue.
