Description
A commercially-produced, colour-printed large paper sheet showing prints of King George V and Queen Mary in the centre, surrounded by Union flags and symbols of the Royal household. On each side are pillars bedecked with hanging laurel leaves, at the top and bottom of which are shields representing Australasia, India, Canada, and South Africa. In the centre at the bottom is a lion surrounded by a laurel wreath, below which are the flowers of three of the nations of Great Britain - roses, daffodils, and shamrock - the thistles were perhaps beneath them, but the sheet has been damaged around its edges, and both the top and bottom have been cut down. Beneath the commercially-printed wording at the top of the central panel of the sheet the names of those who fought have been written in longhand in three columns. At the bottom of the third column is a lined-off group of six names under the heading 'Killed in Action' - five of the names are also on the main list.
