Description
Believed to be Doddington pink granite, from Northumberland, freestanding obelisk surmounted by a ball with a flame finial -perhaps an exploding grenade. WW1 inscription, in raised bronze, on front face above three rectangular bronze plaques of WW1 casualties in reliefs. WW2 inscription above two rectangular bronze plaques with names in relief.

Condition
History
July 2013. £13,000 project of refurbishment and cleaning the plaques. Days after completion, the two WW2 plaques and one WW1 plaque were stolen, and another WW1 plaque damaged. The stolen plaques were later recovered from a scrapyard in Fife, but two had to be remade. In August 2015 the thief (whose grandfather was one of those named on the plaques) was jailed for a year in June 1997.
