Description
Rectangular brass plaque with geometric knot work border. The crest of the Welsh Regiment is at the top of the plaque whilst towards the bottom are the crossed flags of the UK separated by a botonne cross. The inscription is written in gothic lettering with the major words rubricated.

In Memory of/ William George Shears./ Color Sergeant/ 3rd Battalion of the Welsh Regiment/ who died of enteric fever/ at Prieska. South Africa./ on the 18th day of December. 1900/ whilst serving with his Regiment./ Aged 31 Years./ Erected by his Pontypridd Friends/ 30th June 1901.
