- Description
- Rectangular white marble sculpted plaque with top segmental arch on a black marble back board supported by 2 marble corbels. Central top has sculpted figure of a trooper in the Imperial Yeomanry in uniform carrying a carbine, standing by his horse. On both sides of carving are shields with the letter 'IY'. On either side, at base, a painted Union Flag. Beneath hangs a loose leaf page giving full details of F. E. Holmes Lowless.

AFRICA / IN THE 10TH COMPANY IMPERIAL / YEOMANRY AND DIED OF ENTERIC / IN HOSPITAL AT NAAUWPOORT/ DECR 30TH 1901 / AGED 21 YEARS. / THIS MEMORIAL IS PLACED HERE BY HIS / DEVOTED GRANDPARENTS E & F. HOLMES. / "I KNOW THAT MY REDEEMER LIVETH" /Job 19.25.
