Description
Newspaper report found "The memorial consists of new interior to porch the church comprising four sets of folding doors in heavy frames either side of vestibule. The portion of vestibule facing the main entrance door is laid out in three panels, set between miniature Corinthian columns, fluted and with carved capitals matching those the church itself. In these panels are inserted brass plates containing the names the members of the congregation who served in the war. Above these columns the entablature runs all round the vestibule. On the centre tablet are inscribed the names of the members the congregation who made the supreme sacrifice" 1956 - Memorial to men who made the Supreme Sacrifice in two world wars so presumably an addition to the WW1 memorial. At the same time a War Service Record Book with the names of members of the church who served in WW2 was dedicated.
