- Peterborough Advertiser 6/8/1902: report re the dedication of the stained glass window in the chancel mentioned that the plaque had also been erected in the nave.
- Edinburgh Gazette 1/10/1901: published the posthumous award of his Distinguished Service Order.
- London Gazette 20/8/1901 announced Mention in Despatches: "Lieutenant C.P. Strong (since killed in action). Near Vrede, Orange River Colony, on 9th May, when in command of rear guard, by his determined resistance to a superior force, enabled baggage to get across a bad drift without a shot being fired at it. Has done consistent good work on many occasions".
