- Carluke and Lanark Gazette - Friday 30 April 1920 -CARSTAIRS. -THE Carstairs War Memorial, which takes the shape of a handsome grey granite Celtic Cross. inscribed with the names of the following, was duly placed in position on the village green on Thursday last by the sculptor, Mr Buchanan, Carluke. The unveiling ceremony by Sir John W. King, Bart of Carstairs, takes place on Sunday, t 6th May.
