- On a rectangular off white marble backboard a rectangular brass plaque surmounted by a semi circular brass panel . A two line border in red round the entire outside edge . In the semi circular panel the badge of the Madras Pioneers incised and coloured black and in the main body of the plaque the dedication with the letters incised and coloured black with the principal initials in red .
