- This is a copy of an illuminated address given to the/Rector George T. Gravell by the prisoners of war/at Island Farm Prisoners of War Camp, Bridgend before/their repatriation to Germany in 1947. [Left Hand Panel]- To/The Choir of/St Mary's Church/Bridgend/In Christian Communion/we beg to thank sincerely and/from our hearts the Rector/of Coity with Nolton, Bridgend/and his choir for the elevat/ing recital of the Crucifixion/which deeply touched our hearts/We feel with a special grat/itude that the two last lines/at the end of the last hymn/-till at last her sons are/gathered one in love and/one in Thee./in such a wonderful way gave/expression to what the choirs/coming to our camp mention/a deeper sense, this choir con/sisting of people old and/young singing so beauty/fully and with such a wonder/ful enthusiasm this grand work/of a great composer dealing/with the last hours of our Lord/by whose prayer our hearts were/bound together./May God bless the congregation/of St Mary's Church and its choir/furthermore.
