In commemoration of the granting of the/freedom of the Borough of Hyndburn/29th June 2002 to/the Queen's Lancashire Regiment/this monument is dedicated to/the East Lancashire Regiment in memory of all ranks who served and died/in all wars, particularly those of the 11th (Service) Battalion (Accrington)/otherwise known as/"THE ACCRINGTON PALS"// The East Lancashire Regiment together/with the South Lancashire Regiment/And the Loyal Regiment/(North Lancashire) is the forebear/of the Queen's Lancashire Regiment/SPECTAMUR AGENDO LOYALLY I SERVE
