- Dundee Courier - Monday 09 October 1922 www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/viewer/bl/0000164/19221009/041/0003 ALYTH CHURCH WAR MEMORIAL UNVEILED. Alyth Parish Church war memorial was unveiled by Mrs Meikle yesterday before a large congregation supplemented by members of the Girl Guide movement, Boys' Brigade, Boy Scouts, and ex-service men. The memorial, which is of bronze, is placed in the church vestibule, and is the gift of Mrs Harris, Sirrahville, Alyth. On it are inscribed the names of 70 members and adherents of the congregation who fell in the Great War. The "Last Post" and Reveille " were sounded by Mr John Walker, and the "Hallelujah Chorus" was played by the organist, Miss Smart. An eloquent and touching sermon was preached by Rev. A. W. Fergusson, Dundee.
