Dedication Plaque-IN MEMORY/OF THESE MEN OF THE/2ND BN/THE BLACK WATCH/R.H.R./WHO WERE DROWNED IN/THE CYCLONE OF 1942/[names in 2 columns]/ERECTED BY THEIR COMRADES Explanatory Plaque-THE ABOVE IS AN EXACT REPLICA OF THE MEMORIAL,/CAST IN KHARAGPUR RAILWAY WORKSHOPS, WHICH/WAS ORIGINALLY SET UP IN THE VILLAGE OF/CONTAI, IN ORISSA, NEAR WHICH THE TRAGEDY/OCCURRED. IN 1947 IT WAS REMOVED TO/THE BRITISH CEMETERY IN CALCUTTA WHERE/IT WAS REGRETTABLY DESTROYED BY VANDALS./THIS REPLICA IS THE GIFT OF THE/FATHER OF ONE OF THE BOYS-/CHARLES FERGUSON- OF HOBART, TASMANIA/AND IS GIVEN PERMANENT PLACE HERE/TO THE GLORY OF GOD
