Large, elaborate wall monument which includes a bust of the deceased, trophy of arms, cherubs, family blazon etc.

BENEATH THIS MONUMENT LYES BURIED YE BODY/ OF CORNELIUS WOOD EFQB/ LATE COLONEL OF A REGIMENT OF HORSE/ AND LIEUTENANT GENERAL OF THE ARMIES/ OF HER MAJESTY QUEEN ANNE/ WHO AFTER HE HAD IN THE LATE WARS/ GIVEN MANY GREAT AND DISTINGUISHING PROOFS/ OF HIS COURAGE CONDUCT JUSTICE AND FIDELITY/ DEPARTED THIS LIFE UPON THE 17TH MAY 1712/ AND IN THE 75TH YEAR OF HIS AGE/ HE WHO IN WAR SO GREAT A FIGURE MADE/ NOW SLEEPS IN PEACE UNDER YE LAUREL SHADE/ AS LONG AS FUTURE TIME SUCCEEDS THE PAST/ SO LONG HIS HONOUR PRAISE & NAME WILL LAST
