- Description
- An irregularly-shaped stone of remembrance, broadly pyramid in dimensions, constructed of large blocks of stone (possibly Portland Stone). The top of the stone has a flattened sloping face on which there is a carved representation of the Society's emblem of a lion. The front face of the stone has the insignia of RNEBS with a commemoration carved into the stone below. A carving of a ship's propellor is on one side face, a flash of lightning on the other. The memorial is placed on a square flagstone base of the same stone, within a narrow circular band of black stone (possibly granite) which bears the name of the society.
