Description
Moulded white glazed ceramic bearing the British Legion Badge with wreath below in relief, below which the inscription in relief. Rough incised inscription on back shows manufacturer to be "Shaws", the local Shaws Glazed Brick Company Ltd, a company still trading in the town, together with the date of manufacture, 18 February 1953. In November 2018 it was reported found in a box under the pews . The Darwen Branch of the Royal British Legion were unaware of its existence. It was offered a place in the Bolton Heritage Centre but it remains as discovered. The original location and position are not known.
