- Wren Canning worked at Admiralty House, Inveraray during WW2. Her body was found near this location, she had been shot but the killer was never found. Plaque fixed to a boulder near where her body was found. Also an inscription on a loose rough flat rock against the boulder.

- Bullet Wounds in "Wren's" Body Five bullet wounds, it is reported to-day, were found in the body of Gertrude Canning, the 20-year-old Irish member of the W.R.N.S., whose body, covered with braken, was discovered in a ditch near the roadway near west of Scotland town on Sunday night.
