- Description
- A series of tablets etc around a large boulder and rough stone wall. H.M.S. QUEBEC was the main training base for Combined Operations in WW2. Several building survive and the area is now a caravan site. These memorials are on in circular area surrounded by a dry stone wall near the main buildings.

- Tablet: Combined Operations badge with "1939" above and "1945" below H.M.S. QUEBEC badge Tablet: Combined Training Centre badge at top. Motto "UNITED WE CONQUER" INVERARY / Inveraray was No1 / Combined Training Centre 1940 - 1945. / Its purpose was to train Navy, Army and R.A.F./ personnel in assaults and landings. / Several camps were situated / on the shores of Loch Fyne. / This was H.M.S. Quebec, the Naval base. / During the war years, many famous leaders visited / including King George VI, Winston Churchill, Lord Louis Mountbatten and / King Haaken & Crown Prince Olav of Norway. / 250,000 British, Ammerican, Canadians, Free French, Polish & Norwegian all trained here. Tablet: Combined Training Centre badge at top. Motto "UNITED WE CONQUER" INVERARY / This Stone / is dedicated to the / Men & Women / who trained here / & especially those / who did not return. / This Stone donated by / Bonawe Quarries / to whom we are / truly thankful.
