Description
Memorial is in the form of an ancient "Wayside Altar" with small brick pavilion with tiled roof, opensided with wooden rails on three brick steps. Cross on apex of roof. Nowy headed triptych on back brick wall under canopy. Wood centre panel with inscriptions (had originally contained figure of Christ), has WW1 names. There is a rounded shelf for flowers with a ledge below - additional two side panels bear names of WW2 men. Below the shelf the main inscription is on a metal plaque. Panels are in Oak as are posts and rails. Lettering is in white.

In Dowy at top of Centre panel: THE LORD OF HOSTS/HE IS/THE KING OF GLORY. Bottom of panel: TO THE HONOURED DEAD/TO THOSE WHO IN THE GREAT WARS/WENT OUT FROM THIS VILLAGE/TO FIGHT IN THE CAUSE OF FREEDOM/FOR THEIR KING AND COUNTRY/AND SO GAVE THEIR LIVE/THIS MEMORIAL IS GRATEFULLY/AND REVERENTLY DEDICATED. Left and right of centre panel: 1914 Maltese Cross 1918/(NAMES) Two further side panels: Maltese Cross/1939 -45/(NAMES).
