Cairn with Highland Targe and Broadsword on top. Metal descriptive plaque on side. Commemorates the traditional site of last clan battle on Lewis.
Inscription
THE LAST LEWIS CLAN BATTLE 1654 / BETWEEN THE MORRISONS OF NESS / AND THE MACAULAYS OF UIG / TOOK PLACE ON THIS COAST. / THE MACAULAYS WERE RETURNING TO UIG / WITH RAIDED MORRISON CATTLE WHEN / CAUGHT IN A BLOODY AFFRAY. / THE SURVIVING MACAULAYS WERE PURSUED / AS FAR AS UIG, WHERE THEIR LEADER / ZACHARY MACAULAY WAS KILLED.
